Mr. Moustafa Shaikhon, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), witnessed the signing ceremony for a landmark contract to develop and operate a digitally managed truck movement yard at Sokhna Port in partnership with “Nafith Egypt Logistics Services”.
Spanning 167,000 square meters with investments exceeding EGP 1 billion (approximately USD 19.3 million), the project aims to reach a daily capacity of 1,100 trucks upon full operation.
The agreement was signed by Captain Ahmed Gamal, SCZONE Vice Chairman for the Southern Region; Ms. Abir Leheta, Chairman of Nafith Egypt and Managing Director of Egytrans Nosco; and Ms. Noura Mehyar, Vice Chairman of Nafith Egypt and Managing Director of Nafith International.
Mr. Shaikhon emphasized that the initiative aligns with state directives to comprehensively upgrade hard and soft infrastructure across all SCZONE ports through strategic partnerships with local and international private sectors.
This positions SCZONE as a premier global investment destination, seamlessly integrating ports and industrial zones to optimize global supply chains, boost national exports, and localize targeted industries.
Furthermore, the advanced digital platform and real-time movement planning will effectively mitigate port congestion, reinforcing Sokhna Port’s logistical capabilities as a vital bridge connecting world markets.
