Egypt Expands Export Development Program to Boost Tech Services

Egypt has taken a strategic step to bolster its digital economy by integrating technology services into the national Export Development Program.
Through a new cooperation protocol signed between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the Export Development Fund, the government aims to enhance the global competitiveness of Egyptian tech exports and attract significant foreign investment into high-value-added sectors.
Under this seven-year initiative, effective from the 2025/2026 fiscal year, companies specializing in electronics design, semiconductors, embedded systems, and mobile technology will now qualify for export rebate incentives.
These financial rewards are tied directly to export growth rates and employment levels, providing a clear framework to incentivize local firms to scale their operations and expand their reach into international markets.
Beyond direct financial incentives, the government is also focused on streamlining the broader business environment.
Officials are currently developing a unified digital platform to simplify licensing and administrative procedures for investors, a move designed to improve Egypt’s ease-of-doing-business ranking.
By combining these digital administrative reforms with targeted export support, Egypt is positioning itself as a premier regional hub for advanced technology, electronics design, and research and development, further supporting the national “Egypt Makes Electronics” (EME) initiative.
