The Media Bureau of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) announced in a press release issued today that SCZONE’s Sokhna Port has received the cruise ship (CRYSTAL SERENITY), affiliated with the Tourism Foundation of the International Global Center for Tourism.

Arriving from the Port of Mumbai, India, the ship docked at the Basin 2 berth of DP World Sokhna.

Approximately 400 tourists of various nationalities are expected to board the ship, in addition to a crew of 400 to 520 members.

Furthermore, the ship is expected to arrive later this week at SCZONE’s West Port Said Port, where about 200 additional tourists will join, bringing the total capacity of the ship—passengers and crew—to over 1,100 individuals.

In this context, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, stated that SCZONE, through its affiliated ports and industrial zones, is keen on supporting various sectors within Egypt.

He emphasized that the Sokhna Port development project, to which Egypt and its institutions have dedicated all efforts in cooperation and coordination with SCZONE, has enhanced the port’s readiness to fulfill its role in serving various industrial, commercial, and logistics sectors, as well as tourism.

He pointed out the historic achievement the port made, to be enrolled in the Guinness World Records for having the deepest man-made port basin in the world at a depth of 19 meters.

This reflects the continuous volume of work dedicated to transforming Sokhna Port into the most important pivotal port on the Red Sea, acting as a gateway to Africa and a vital link between various global markets.

He also noted that the port administration has taken all necessary measures and coordinated with all concerned authorities to ensure the safety and security of tourists of all nationalities, providing all facilities for them to enjoy an outstanding tourism experience.
