Egypt’s Ministry of Finance is accelerating its educational development strategy by launching two ambitious Public-Private Partnership (PPP) programs aimed at meeting growing domestic and international labor demands.
Atter Hanoura, Head of the Central PPP Unit, announced plans to roll out 800 new schools to provide high-quality education for middle-income families.
Following the success of the initial 2019-2020 pilot, the government is now coordinating the second phase, which includes the construction of 57 schools, with additional batches planned as land availability expands.
Simultaneously, the Ministry is prioritizing technical education to bridge the gap between local training and international standards.
A flagship initiative will establish 30 European-accredited technical schools. By partnering with the private sector, these institutions will offer curricula recognized in European labor markets, allowing graduates to secure employment abroad without requiring further qualification assessments.
The government is currently finalizing the first contract for this initiative, while also exploring the expansion of the “Nile Schools” model to further modernize the nation’s educational infrastructure.
