In a major diplomatic milestone reflecting the deepening bilateral ties between Egypt and Malaysia, King Sultan Ibrahim awarded Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi the prestigious Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara (Order of the Crown of the Realm).
The conferring of Malaysia’s highest federal honour underscores the strong mutual respect and strategic relationship shared by the two nations.
Established on August 16, 1958, during the reign of Malaysia’s first king, Tuanku Abdul Rahman, the Order of the Crown of the Realm is traditionally bestowed upon senior royal figures, ruling sultans, heads of state, and highly distinguished foreign leaders.
The order comprises a single rank with a strictly limited membership of 30 living individuals, excluding foreign recipients who receive the accolade on an honorary basis.
The distinguished honour features five symbolic insignia elements: a collar, a badge suspended from the collar, a star, a sash, and a sash badge.
President El-Sisi’s reception of this decoration highlights his global standing and key efforts in fostering stronger political, economic, and diplomatic ties between Egypt and Malaysia.
