SCZONE Chairman Receives Omani Ambassador to Egypt to Discuss Enhancing Economic Cooperation

Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), received H.E. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Egypt, at SCZONE headquarters in the New Capital to discuss ways to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two sides and review the investment opportunities available within SCZONE in sectors of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien highlighted SCZONE’s integrated model, comprising four industrial zones and six seaports on the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, providing investors with a competitive environment that supports industrial growth, logistics services, and international trade.

He also emphasized SCZONE’s interest in expanding cooperation with Oman, particularly in priority sectors including industry, logistics, and food security, while enhancing integration between the ports and industrial zones of both countries.

For his part, H.E. Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between Oman and Egypt and expressed his country’s interest in strengthening economic and investment cooperation in line with Oman Vision 2040, particularly in the sectors of industry, logistics, food security, and tourism.

He also welcomed greater engagement between the business communities of both countries through business delegations and investment visits to explore partnership opportunities.

It is worth noting that an Omani economic delegation is scheduled to visit the Integrated Sokhna Industrial Zone next month to explore investment opportunities, industrial facilities, and infrastructure, and discuss potential areas of future cooperation.
