Roche Diagnostics has officially appointed Carlos Justiniani Ugarte as the new General Manager for Egypt and North Africa Network Lead.
Bringing over 27 years of international executive leadership experience across five continents, Justiniani steps into the role following a successful four-year tenure as Country Manager for Morocco.
During his time in Morocco, he expanded regional healthcare access by pioneering telepathology solutions, near-patient care tools, and establishing the affiliate as a strategic hub for Francophone West Africa.
In his new position, Justiniani aims to build upon Roche Diagnostics Egypt’s legacy of impactful public-private partnerships.
The Egypt affiliate has long served as a crucial collaborator in national health initiatives, including the landmark Hepatitis C virus (HCV) elimination program, nationwide breast cancer screenings, and the rollout of digital pathology and total laboratory automation.
Looking ahead, Justiniani’s vision centers on accelerating diagnostic digitalization and deploying ethical artificial intelligence to strengthen healthcare resilience, expand patient access, and improve clinical outcomes across Egypt and the broader North Africa region.
