China-based intelligent manufacturing leader, Jiangsu Changhong, has announced plans to establish a $20 million automotive equipment and production line facility in Egypt.
The project, discussed between the company’s Chairperson, Qiu Yunjie, and Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid, aims to localize high-tech automotive manufacturing, enhance supply chain efficiency, and boost Egypt’s export capabilities.
The factory will focus on the design and construction of intelligent production lines, including welding, painting, and assembly systems.
By transferring advanced industrial technology and training local talent, the initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader strategy to position itself as a regional automotive manufacturing hub.
The Egyptian government has pledged to facilitate the necessary land and infrastructure to accelerate the project, which is expected to expand in subsequent phases, leveraging Egypt’s strategic location and extensive free trade agreements.
