Egypt Accuses FIFA of ‘Match-Fixing’ After Controversial Argentina Defeat

In a stunning turn of events, Egypt’s World Cup journey ended in controversy following a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat to Argentina in the Round of 16.

Despite holding a commanding 2-0 lead, the Pharaohs suffered a dramatic second-half collapse, marred by disputed officiating that has sparked global outrage.

Egypt star Mostafa Ziko and manager Hossam Hassan were vocal in their condemnation, openly questioning the integrity of the tournament.

Ziko claimed the competition felt “fixed” for Argentina, while Hassan expressed profound frustration over disallowed goals and ignored VAR interventions, ultimately vowing to boycott the remainder of the tournament due to a perceived lack of justice and fair play.

The team remains convinced that external pressure influenced the match officials, casting a dark cloud over the remainder of the World Cup.
