The General Authority for the Golden Triangle Economic Zone (GTEZ) has signed its first industrial development contract with Elsewedy Industrial Development to construct a 6-million-square-meter integrated industrial and logistics zone in Safaga.
The agreement marks a major push to accelerate private-sector investment, mineral processing, and regional economic development across Upper Egypt.
Designed in three phases, the project leverages Safaga’s strategic coastal location and direct transport links to Upper Egypt to connect local manufacturing directly with international export routes.
The complex will specialize in mineral-based processing, downstream production, and green industrial practices, utilizing renewable energy and sustainable resource management.
In addition to industrial infrastructure, the development features a new branch of the Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) to train and upskill local labor.
Supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030, the initiative aims to boost national supply chains, maximize mineral resource value, and create sustainable jobs across the Red Sea and Upper Egypt regions.
